Juvenile Justice Council Meeting – January 20, 2017
The First Judicial Circuit Juvenile Justice Council will hold its eighth official meeting on January 20, 2017. The meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be held at John A. Logan College at 700 Logan College Road, Carterville, in Building F, Room F119. The meeting will include an update on council matters and a presentation on the new First Judicial Circuit Resource Guide. Executive Board and subcommittee meetings will be held earlier that day and will also be reported on at the general meeting.
The Juvenile Justice Council brings together stakeholders from the First Judicial Circuit—including law enforcement, court personnel, community leaders, organizers, service providers, and citizens—to assess their county’s local juvenile justice system, to develop a juvenile justice plan, and to make recommendations to local governments and other community leaders to effectively handle delinquency issues. The council provides an opportunity to collaborate to rehabilitate youth offenders and assist those youth in becoming contributing, productive members of society. The council serves Alexander, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, and Williamson counties.
